Brief
The garden-timber companies I worked with sell verandas, carports and garden buildings — products almost nobody in the market was showing in motion; most competitors didn’t even have proper stills. They wanted marketing content that set them apart. And their customers faced the same hurdle with every delivery: a thick printed manual for a structure that takes two people a weekend to build.
Approach
Every film starts from the same accurate product model as the stills. I planned each assembly sequence the way an installer actually builds the structure — post by post, beam by beam — with close-up cutaways on the fixings at exactly the steps where people get them wrong. Assembly runs on clean white so nothing distracts from the build order; lifestyle reveals put the finished product in full scenes with real light. The assembly film then replaced the bulk of the printed manual: products now ship with a slim booklet and a QR code to the video. Customers watch the build instead of decoding it, and the company stopped printing and posting heavyweight manuals. Nobody has to guess how it goes together.
